While on Oahu for the graduation we rented a beach house on the North Shore near Sunset Beach. Here is Dale waiting patiently for the 15-20 foot sets to reach perfection before showing the natives how to negotiate the reef with his 6'2" board.

Kauai Vacation/Cierra's Graduation

Beautiful, isn't it. One week before Cierra's graduation we spent 6 days with her (Alfredo had to study for finals :( ) in Kauai. Here is what it looked like near our condo in Poipu.

One of the things we did was zip lining. Dale hates heights but he closed his eyes and did it for the girls. We did this on a ranch near Princeville. Cierra and Dale also went on a helicopter ride and they all went on a cruise to the "forbidden isle" of Nihau.

At the conclusion of the zip lining we took a dip in a tropical stream infested with Hawaiian craw-dads!

Oh yes, we are rough, we are tough and we all have wedgies from our gear!

Dodger Game at L.A. Coliseum

Dale and Pat Reynolds tailgate before the game with Red Sox
115,300 in attendance. The largest crowd to ever attend a major league baseball game. Our seats were near the peristile......waaaayyyyy out there.
Pat and Dale used to go to the Dodger games and play base together in Jr. High and High School. They hadn't seen each other in over 25 years so this was a great reunion for them.

St. George Marathon October 6, 2007

Dale's Trip to Kodiak (September 2007)

The rivers in Kodiak had huge runs of pink and silver salmon while we were there. Here they are so plentiful you could almost walk on water.

Dave caught this 265 lb halibut. We all caught limits on halibut and threw them back if they were under 50 lbs.!
Larry with a 35 lb king salmon, the biggest of the trip. In 3 days the 5 fishermen had caught one ton of salmon and halibut.

Dale and Sam's Kenya Mission Trip

Before flying into Nairobi, Kenya we spent 1 1/2 days in London.
Sam with Kenyan children.
We saw cheetahs, lions, giraffes, antelopes, zebras, ostriches, hippos, crocodiles, wildebeests, elephants and dozens of other animals on safari.
Durung the 2 day safari we traveled in vans.

We had the opportunity being amongst and treating the Maasai in the Serengeti/Masai Mara. They are a pastoral people living off their cattle, sheep and goats.
Hundreds of Masaai line up to see Dale at a one room school.
The Murengiti dispensary was dedicated while we were there.
While patients were being seen Sam often played with the children.
During our safari it was the time for the annual wildebeest migration....a half million of them come into the Masai Mara game reserve. Here crocodiles engorge themselves on tasty wildebeest filet.

This is one of 3 dispensaries we set up among the Kikuyu tribe. We supplied equipment, drugs and trained some of the personnel. The lay nurses await our arrival that day.

After church services the chapel was converted into a temporary clinic in order to treat patients who had never even seen a physician before.
We spent 2 days on a safari in Masai Mara. Here is Dale at the mara river where in a quarter mile segment of the river saw over 100 hippos, the world's most dangerous mammal!

This was a family to whom we made a 'home visit". It was typical of several we made. The man in the green coat is seen with his 4 children. 2 days before they had lost their wife and mother to AIDS. In some groups in Kenya 30-40% are HIV positive.
